A cone label carries the key facts about the yarn inside. Reading it confidently helps you check you got what you ordered.
What is on the label
- Count — the yarn fineness (e.g. 30s Ne). Convert here.
- Blend & ratio — e.g. 100% cotton or PC 65/35.
- Fold — single or two-fold (e.g. 30s or 60s/2).
- Lot / batch number — use the same lot within a fabric to avoid shade/barre variation.
- Net weight — the yarn weight, excluding the cone/paper.
- Shade — for dyed yarn, the colour reference.
Why the lot matters
Mixing lots is a common cause of fabric faults like barre. Keep production runs to one lot where possible.
