Good yarn can be spoiled by poor storage. A few simple habits protect strength, shade and cleanliness between delivery and production.
Control humidity and temperature
Cotton is hygroscopic — it absorbs and loses moisture with the air. Store yarn in a cool, dry, stable environment; excess damp invites mildew and weakens fibre, while very dry air makes yarn brittle and static-prone.
Keep it clean and covered
Keep cartons closed and off the floor on pallets, away from dust, oil and contamination. Stray fibres, dirt or coloured lint can cause specks and dye faults in fabric.
Protect from light
Keep dyed and white yarn out of direct sunlight, which can fade shade and yellow whites over time.
Rotate stock (FIFO)
Use older stock first. Prolonged storage can affect strength and shade, so first-in, first-out keeps your production consistent.
Handle cones with care
Avoid crushing cones or dropping cartons — damaged packages cause tension problems and breaks on the machine.
We pack and dispatch yarn to arrive in top condition, across India.
