CVC stands for “Chief Value Cotton” — a cotton-polyester blend in which cotton is the majority fibre (typically 55–80% cotton). It blends the comfort of cotton with the durability and easy care of polyester. Here is when to use it.
What CVC means
Any cotton-poly blend where cotton is more than half by weight is CVC. Common ratios are 60/40 and 80/20 (cotton/polyester). Because cotton leads, CVC feels closer to pure cotton than a standard poly-cotton (PC) blend, while the polyester adds strength, shape retention and faster drying.

CVC stands for chief value cotton. It is a polyester-cotton blend in which cotton is the larger share by value and usually by weight — most commonly 60/40 cotton to polyester.
The distinction from PC is not academic. PC blends are polyester-led and engineered for durability and low cost; CVC is cotton-led and engineered for handle. They behave differently on the machine, in the dyehouse and on the body.

Where CVC earns its place
CVC is the sensible middle for retail apparel: T-shirts and polos that need to feel like cotton but survive commercial laundering, casual shirting, and fleece where pure cotton would be too heavy and pure polyester too clammy.
It is also the standard answer when a buyer wants cotton handle at a price pure combed cotton cannot reach.
The heather effect — feature or fault
Because polyester and cotton take different dyes, a CVC fabric dyed in one pass can show a subtle two-tone or heathered appearance. For melange and marl ranges this is exactly the intention.
For a solid shade it is a defect. If you want flat colour on CVC, say so explicitly and agree the shade tolerance before production — it changes the dyeing route and the cost.
